FOOD: British vs. Japanese

It's hard to resist temptation when it comes to food, especially if you're trying to watch your weight, but there's nothing wrong with treating yourself every so often right? This week i went to Chiquitos in Didsbury Parswood with my family before they jetted off round the world yet again (leaving little old' me behind) and Wagamamas in Manchester Printworks with my chummy. Here are my reviews:

Chiquitos

Yes, Chiquitos is a Mexican restaurant. But why did you get a full english? Well, simply because it was FREE. It was 'breakfast week' #breakfastweek during the month of a February weekend, and i totally took advantage of this offer.

I ordered the breakfast Sizzler and it came served in a very hot skillet! There were two fried eggsellent yolks, pork and leek sausage, hash browns, back bacon, sautéed mushrooms and roasted cherry tomatoes on-the-vine. I also ordered a latte and it came with unlimited refills - winning.

Positive value of the negative experience. Ok, so now here comes my experience with them (especially the Parswood branch). My first experience with them was probably a year ago - they really need to invest in more staff, trained staff. Although the food was great and the staff were attentive-ish, the waiting time to get served and to get the bill was not ok. And this time it was no different. Waited over 15 minutes to get served, 45 minutes for the food to arrive and about 20 minutes for the bill. I also, sent a letter to their HQ and received no reply - TWICE.

Wagamamas

One of my favourite cuisines has got to be Japanese food. From Ramen to Sushi - their food is light and healthy, and not full of substandard ingredients. I think this is why this cuisine appeals to a vast majority.

I ordered the Chicke Katsu Curry 'a chicken breast deep fried in panko bredcrumbs, served with a curry sauce and sticky white rice and garnished with mixed leaves and red pickles' i'm not a big fan of their red pickles (cabbage) because they taste like they've been marinated in ginger (i hate ginger). And overall it was yummy lunch! They also give free green tea for every meal, free refills too.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive - just what i expected! They also give you a free WiFi code during your stay of the meal, brilliant!
